This technology development is a continuation of the work completed during Dr Greens PhD study at the University of Johannesburg. Developing a quadcopter application in underground mining that will improve both safety and productivity by preventing and addressing the roc-pass blockages that occur in the vertical tunnels of underground mines.

 

The team met fortuitously as both Dr Green and Mr Slatttery were graduating in 2018. Both contemplating their next career moves and opportunities, they agreed to join forces and thus was the birth of Great Depth Scanning, combining the initials of Green And Dane in the name GDScan.co.za. 

 

 

About us

Our goal is to improve the safety and productivity of underground mines by actively taking steps to prevent rock pass blockages, and then when a rock pass does block, safely and quickly mapping and releasing the blockage to resume production.
